Recently I've decided to make a research about the biggest cities in the world. Here's the result:) : Top 10 Largest Cities in the World.

Each of these cities is like a small country. Would you like to live in such a huge city or do you prefer small towns? What are advantages and disadvantages of both?

I like large cities, they have so many places of interest!
Among these cities I would like to live in New York or Los Angeles, they are so interesting to me!

Large cities - large possibilities! But I feel myself lost in a big city. There is too much rush. So I prefer to live in a smaller one.

I would rather be in a small village or town. I like the slower pace of life, and the ability to visit busy cities when I want to. Big cities have so much to see and do, but ultimately I would like to live in a quieter environment. Where people know each other and look out for each other.

Yes, it's like one big family:)

My new husband, Sam, who has never left the US, is here with me in Scotland to meet my family, and he loves the life here. My Mum lives in a small town, and he sees the difference to big city life. He wants to move here!!

Wow! That's amazing! And what about you? Are you willing to move?

It's complicated. I love Scotland and would move in a heartbeat...but I have 4 children in the US. 2 of them are grown, both doctors and on with their lives. The other 2 are young..only 9 and 10 and I can't even imagine living without them most of the year, although I know some people can do it. So, I have a husband who is willing to move me back to where I feel I belong, but the boys' father wouldn't even think about letting them move here with me....

And what about boys? Are they willing? I think it may be interesting for them to see another culture... to live in it. Maybe you should talk to their father about moving for some time, for example a year, and then they can make their own decision where to live? But of course living so far from them would be really hard...

Their Dad would NEVER allow them to leave the country for that long. I brought them here to see my family 2 summers ago for 3 weeks and that was a struggle to do because he didn't want them traveling out of the country. He is extremely posessive over the boys. Almost with obsession. The sad thing is that when I brought the boys over to Scotland they loved it so much!!! I wish I could live here with them...
That's a pity... I hope you will find the right decision, there are no situations without way out:) I wish you good luck!
